MISSION

Psychology Day at the United Nations is a celebration of psychology in the context of the United Nations. It provides an opportunity for psychology to share with U.N. Permanent Missions, U.N. agencies, NGOs and the private sector the activities of psychologists at the U.N. and the role of psychology in addressing concerns of global importance. Psychology Day also introduces psychologists and psychology students to psychology's current and potential involvement in U.N. activities and issues.

This program will consider ways theory, research, and practice in the Psychology of Wellbeing can increase the welfare of individuals globally,, facilitate achievement of the 2015 Sustainable Goals, and address the challenges of contemporary cultural, economic, and environmental systems.

PANELS:  

1 - Social: Mitigating the social threat of violence, coping with the psychological consequences

2 - Economic: Sustainable wellbeing and the United Nations

3 - Environmental: Increasing and protecting wellbeing for diverse and underserved groups
